Picture this: you're cruising the calm inshore waters, the sun's warming your face, and suddenly your rod doubles over. That's the kind of excitement you can expect on our Gulf Shores fishing trip. We're talking about battling scrappy specks (that's speckled trout for you newcomers), hard-pulling redfish, and the occasional surprise catch that'll have you grinning from ear to ear. Our local waters are teeming with fish, and we know just where to find 'em.
Don't sweat it if you're new to fishing – we've got all the gear and know-how to get you catching like a pro. We'll set you up with top-notch rods and reels, and show you the ropes on everything from baiting hooks to setting the hook when a fish strikes. We might be tossing live shrimp under a popping cork one minute, then switching to artificial lures the next. It all depends on what the fish are in the mood for, and trust me, we speak their language.

"Captain Tony was far and away the best fishing guide we have found on the gulf coast. We had a lot of fun and we caught way more fish than we could take with us. He went out of his way to make sure my son was catching fish and having a great time the whole trip. I highly recommend him as a a guide any time you're in gulf shores." - Betty
Speckled Trout (Specks): These spotted beauties are the bread and butter of inshore fishing in Gulf Shores. Known for their delicate white flesh and willingness to bite, specks are a blast to catch on light tackle. They typically range from 1-3 pounds, but don't be surprised if you hook into a gator trout pushing 5 pounds or more. Spring and fall are prime times for specks, but we catch 'em year-round in these parts.
Redfish: Also known as red drum, these copper-colored bruisers are the bulldogs of the flats. They'll test your drag and your biceps with powerful runs and head-shaking fights. Redfish in the 3-8 pound range are common, but we occasionally tangle with big bulls over 20 pounds. Look for them tailing in the shallows or hanging around structure. The fall "bull red" run is something every angler should experience at least once.
White Trout: Don't let their size fool you – these smaller cousins of the speckled trout are a blast on light tackle and make for some excellent eating. They school up in huge numbers, so when you find them, it's often non-stop action. Perfect for keeping kids (or kids at heart) entertained with constant bites.
Our Gulf Shores fishing trips aren't just about filling the cooler (though we're pretty good at that too). It's about creating memories on the water, learning new skills, and experiencing the thrill of the catch. We take pride in putting our guests on fish, but we also love sharing our passion for the local ecosystem. You might spot dolphins, ospreys, or even a sea turtle during your trip – it's all part of the package.
For $450, you and a buddy get 3 hours of prime fishing time with all the fixings. Need to bring more folks? No problem – we can accommodate up to 4 people total for an extra $50 per person. We provide all the gear, bait, and licenses, so all you need to bring is your sense of adventure (and maybe a snack or two). And because we believe in making your life easier, we'll even clean your catch for you at the end of the trip. Just remember, we practice catch-and-release for anything out of season or over the limit – it's all about keeping our fishery healthy for years to come.
So, what do you say? Ready to wet a line and see what's biting in Gulf Shores? Whether you're looking to put some fillets in the freezer or just want to experience the thrill of battling inshore gamefish, our 3-hour trip is the perfect way to do it. Don't let your Gulf Shores vacation go by without getting out on the water – trust me, the fish are calling your name. Book your spot now, and let's make some fishing memories that'll have you coming back year after year. Tight lines, folks!

Sea Trout, or Speckled Trout as we call 'em, are a blast to catch. They usually run 14-24 inches, but I've seen some monsters over 5 pounds. You'll find them in grass flats and shallow waters, especially at night. During winter, they school up in deeper holes. These fish love to chase, so artificial lures work great - try jerk baits, topwater plugs, or plastic shrimp. They're known for their delicate, mild flavor, so plenty of folks like to keep a few for the dinner table. Sea Trout put up a good fight and often make acrobatic jumps. The best time to target them is during their spawning runs in spring and fall. Here's a local tip: troll slowly along grass edges early in the morning for best results. Just remember, these fish can be sensitive to overfishing, so we always practice catch and release with the big breeders. Whether you're after a trophy or just want to bend a rod, Sea Trout offer consistent action in our waters.
Redfish, also called Red Drum, are a favorite target around here. These copper-colored beauties usually run 20-30 inches but can grow much bigger. Look for them in shallow water - sometimes so shallow their backs are out of the water! They love hanging around oyster beds, grass flats, and old structures in 1-4 feet of water. Fall is prime time as they school up to spawn. Anglers love Redfish for their hard-fighting nature and excellent table fare. They'll hit all kinds of lures, but nothing beats a live shrimp on a popping cork. My go-to trick is sight-casting with gold spoons - those flashes drive 'em crazy. Just remember to keep an eye out for that distinctive black spot near the tail. It's not just for looks - it actually helps confuse predators. Whether you're after a trophy bull or some tasty fillets for dinner, Redfish offer an exciting challenge in our local waters.
