Our 4-hour trip is perfect for those looking to get a taste of offshore fishing without dedicating a full day. We keep things simple but effective out here. You'll be using sturdy bottom-fishing setups - think heavy-duty rods paired with reliable reels that can handle the fight of a big snapper. We typically rig up with circle hooks, which are great for catch-and-release if needed, but also perfect for solid hookups when you're keeping fish for the dinner table. Our deckhand will show you the ropes on how to drop your bait, feel for the bite, and set the hook when it's go-time. It's all about getting your bait to the right depth and being ready when those snappers decide to chow down!

Red Snapper: These are the stars of the show in Gulf Shores. Known for their bright red color and tasty white meat, Red Snapper are the prize catch for many anglers. They typically hang out near structures on the seafloor, so we'll be targeting reefs and wrecks where these fish love to congregate. The average size ranges from 5 to 15 pounds, but don't be surprised if you hook into a 20-pounder or bigger! Red Snapper season is closely regulated, usually opening in the summer months, so it's a real treat when we can target these beauties.
Sea Trout: While we're primarily after Red Snapper on this trip, Sea Trout (also known as Speckled Trout) might make an appearance, especially if we hit some inshore spots. These fish are known for their speckled pattern and delicious, flaky meat. Sea Trout are year-round residents in the Gulf Shores area, but the bite can be particularly good in the spring and fall. They're fun to catch on light tackle and put up a scrappy fight for their size, usually ranging from 1 to 5 pounds.
Look, the fish are out there waiting, and our calendar fills up fast - especially during peak snapper season. This 4-hour trip is perfect for families, groups of friends, or anyone looking to get a solid offshore fishing experience without breaking the bank. Remember, we can take up to 6 guests, so grab your crew and let's make some fishing memories! Don't forget, our deckhand works for tips only, so if they help you land that monster, show 'em some love. Ready to feel the rush of battling a big Red Snapper? Sea Trout, also called Speckled Trout, are a favorite inshore target here in Gulf Shores. Most run 14-24 inches and 1-5 pounds, but we've seen some topping 10 pounds. You'll find them in grass flats and around structures in the bays and estuaries. They're here year-round, but fall and spring are best when water temps are in the 60s and 70s. Anglers love 'em for their aggressive strikes and acrobatic fights. Plus, they're mighty fine eating - mild, flaky white meat that's hard to beat. To land a nice one, try working a soft plastic shrimp under a popping cork at dawn or dusk. Twitch it slowly and be ready - when they hit, it's like lightning. One local secret: on cloudy days, fish darker colored lures. The trout seem to key in on them better in low light. Just watch out for their teeth when you're unhooking 'em!
Red Snapper are the kings of the Gulf, no doubt about it. These big, beautiful fish typically run 1-2 feet long and 5-10 pounds, but the monsters can hit 35 pounds or more. You'll find them hanging around reefs and wrecks in 100-300 feet of water. May through October is prime time, when they're spawning and feeding heavily. Folks love catching Red Snapper not just for the tasty white meat, but for the fight they put up. When you hook one, it'll dive hard for cover, so you gotta muscle 'em up quick. Here's a local trick: use fresh-cut cigar minnows or live pinfish on a double-hook rig. Let it hit bottom, then reel up a few cranks. The scent drives 'em wild. Just remember, these fish are smart - you might need to downsize your line and use fluorocarbon leader to fool the big ones.
